“Have you ever wondered… if you’re still the same person when you look into the mirror?”

The story is telling about Cathy, a 16-year-old girl chasing her music dreams and feeling the generation gap between her mum and herself. All of a sudden, she fell into a seemingly perfect mirrored world, led by “Voice”. There would be no arguments, no controlling hands, and no pressure in the mirror. She thought the freedom, understanding, and the chance of becoming whom her dreamed for would come true… … But everything comes with a price.

Mirror the Musical is an immersive experience that combines poetic storytelling with original music composed by sakakosmos. This production pulls the audience into a psychological labyrinth which blurs the reality and the illusion. It discusses the backdrop of the complex emotional dynamics within an East Asian (or a strict) family structure: Mirror peels back the layers of the definition of “good child”. The story exposes the silent suffering, the love that masquerades as control, and the unuttered plea - “I don‘t know who I am.”

As the mirror shatters, the question looms large: Will the truth finally come to light, or will she be consumed by the chaos and lose herself forever?
